Indianapolis Motor Speedway Original Culver Track Brick Stamped 1901
On December 14, 1909, workers placed 3.2 million, 10-pound bricks to pave the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Since then, most of these bricks have been buried under asphalt, but one yard remains exposed at the start-finish line, with winning drivers kissing these bricks after a successful race. This brick is one of the very few bricks left from the original track before the bricks were buried with asphalt in 1938.
