2019 Ryan Hunter-Reay Signed Mid-Ohio Used Andretti Autosport IndyCar Suit
OMP suit worn by Ryan Hunter-Reay at Mid Ohio during the 2019 IndyCar Season while racing for Andretti Autosport.
An 18-time race winner in IndyCar the Floridian, who made his Champ Car debut in 2003 with Stefan Johansson's team, was the winningest active American driver until Josef Newgarden surpassed his total in the 2021 season. Hunter-Reay won his first Champ Car race in Surfers Paradise in 2003 and dominated the 2004 race at the historic Milwaukee Mile, leading all 250 laps for Keith Wiggins' Herdez team.
Hunter-Reay joined the Indy Racing League in 2007 with Rahal Letterman Racing, and his first race was in a relief role at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, where he finished seventh. Hunter-Reay had reasonable success with the smaller A.J. Foyt and Tony George teams before securing his big chance with Michael Andretti's team for the start of the 2010 season. Hunter-Reay's deal was only for a limited number of races, but he masterfully won the Long Beach race in his fourth start with the team, which sealed his future with the organization.
Hunter-Reay won 16 races with Andretti Autosport, highlighted by the 2014 Indianapolis 500 in which he dueled with Helio Castroneves of Team Penske in the final laps. Hunter-Reay's 2012 season ended with his lone Series Championship, a four-win year.
Ryan Hunter-Reay ended the 2021 season as one of pillars of the NTT IndyCar Series. Hunter-Reay will race elsewhere in 2022, but he was been a staple of IndyCar for nearly two decades, driving for six different teams.
Hunter-Reay also has been a regular competitor at the Race of Champions, as well as being a known sports car ace, with wins at the Sebring 12 Hours and the Petit Le Mans, to go along with his podiums at the Rolex 24 of Daytona.
The suit comes from Hunter-Reay's personal collection and has been signed by him on the chest in black marker pen.
The suit comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
