2018-20 Sebastien Bourdais Race Used Coyne Vasser Sullivan/AJ Foyt Racing IndyCar Bell HP-7 Helmet
This fantastic Bell HP-7 Helmet was race used by Frenchman Sébastien Bourdais over two IndyCar seasons. Multi-time Champ Car Champion Bourdais was driving for the Coyne/Vasser/Sullivan Racing team in 2018 and 19. The helmet has been photo-matched to being used during the 2018 events at Phoenix, Detroit, and Toronto and in the 2019 season in Detroit and Toronto. It was then prepared ready to be used for 2020 pre-season testing and the season-opening race at St Petersburg where Bourdais would be driving for the A. J. Foyt Racing Team. Due to Coronavirus, the event had to be canceled.
The Indocil Art painted helmet has the Bourdais customary design which has a pair of wide yellow bands edged with silver pinstripes encircling the helmet over a metallic blue base color. Within the base color are an airbrushed graphic ‘riveted panel and scroll design’. It comes as last employed by Bourdais with a top air feed pipe aero fitting attached ready to be used in conjunction with the newly introduced in cockpit protection Aeroscreen that was to be employed for the first time in IndyCar during the 2020 St Petersburg Grand Prix. it also has it's Hats Off Device and HANS post anchors still installed. All previous sponsor decals were updated for the 2020 season with ones for Karting for Kids and Hall of Fame Collection applied to both sides, John Hopkins to the top yellow band and Bourdais name to the bottom band. The visor panel has a team A.J. Foyt/Chevy sun strip and a Dynasty Financial decal added to it. The helmet also has its 2018/19 IndyCar tech stickers still applied and has an Indocil Art I.D. decal that has the #123.
The helmet also has some additional race history. In 2020 Bourdais former Indy 500 teammate James Davison loaned this exact helmet for a 2020 Sprint Car practice as his own helmet had not arrived at the track in time.
