This original Ron Burton unfinished artwork was composed in celebration of the hundred years since the first motorized event was held at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway to the first Moto GP race held at the track in 2008. American Nicky Hayden, the 2006 Moto GP Champion, was invited to ride a 1909 Indian track race motorcycle, an original survivor of the Speedway's very first event, before the running of the inaugural Moto GP race. The work has an image of Nicky ’The Kentucky Kid’ scooting his way around the track on the vintage machine. Below this is an image of Valentino Rossi on his Fiat Yamaha Team machine crossing the yard of bricks on his way to winning the 2008 Red Bull Indianapolis Moto Grand Prix. Hayden would finish second in the race. Separating these two images are the 'Stars and Stripes' which is overlaid with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ‘Winged Wheel’. Rossi ‘The Doctor’ would go on to win the 2008 Moto GP championship, his sixth of the seven he would win.

Famed Indianapolis motorsport artist Ron Burton did not manage to complete this composition, but we feel this adds to the work and gives an insight into how Ron would go about his art. It is also one of the last pieces of artwork that Ron worked on.

The works medium is acrylic on canvas and its size is 5 x 4 ft (152 x 121 cm).

It comes with a full Certificate Of Authenticity.
