2008 Sam Hornish Jr. Signed Race Used Team Penske NASCAR Helmet
Stunning Simpson helmet from American NASCAR and IndyCar star Sam Hornish Jr.. Sam moved over permanently to NASCAR racing after a very successful IndyCar career which saw him win three IndyCar Series Championships and the 2006 Indianapolis 500.
This helmet was used in 2008 by Hornish Jr. during his first full NASCAR campaign where he drove in three series, The Sprint Cup, The Xfinity Series (for Team Penske), and one event in the Craftsman Truck Series. It has been photo-matched to being used at the 2008 Kobalt Tools 500 race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, in Georgia. After which, a drinks hole was added to the helmet and Hornish Jr. confirmed that this helmet was used in the one and only Craftsman Truck race he entered, the Kroger 200 at the Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. Sam drove a Penske liveried Dodge truck for Bobby Hamilton Racing in that race.
The Beam Designs painted helmet has a fabulous graphic ‘Stars and Stripes’ design encircling the helmet that is divided by an airbrushed ‘bolted steel panels’ effect strip running through the centre over the top from back to front. It has Penske Truck Rental decals on the top front and both sides, as well as Penske, Dodge, and Jasper lettering on the chin. Hornish Jr.’s name can be found on the cheeks. It has been personally signed on its visor by Sam Hornish Jr. and he has also added his #77 Sprint Cup race number to it.
The helmet comes with a full Certificate Of Authenticity.
