2002 Townsend Bell Signed Race Used Visteon Patrick Racing Bell Dominator IndyCar Helmet
Bell Dominator helmet worn by Townsend Bell while racing for Patrick Racing during the 2002 IndyCar season.
Bell won the Indy Lights championship in 2001 before embarking on a career at the top of motorsports.
Bell made 39 career IndyCar starts, having his finest runs in the Indianapolis 500. He finished fourth in the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" in 2009 and twice qualified in the fourth position. The first of the latter was in 2011 when Sam Schmidt's team won the pole with Alex Tagliani and combined to win the race with Bryan Herta Autosport with Dan Wheldon driving. Bell also qualified fourth in 2016 in an Andretti Autosport car. He was poised to contend for the race win before having contact with Helio Castroneves that led to a spin into Andretti teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay on pit road. Bell led 12 laps in that race.
Bell's driving career has included sports cars, winning the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2012 and the 24 Hours of LeMans in 2016. However, he might be best known for his work with NBC broadcasting the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with Leigh Diffey.
The helmet comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
