1998 Tony Kanaan Rookie Year IndyCar Suit

A fantastic OMP racing suit worn by IndyCar legend Tony Kanaan during his 1998 rookie season with Tasman Motorsports in the CART Championship.

The suit has been matched to Kanaan’s appearances during the Portland race weekend and the Gateway 300 race weekend. Despite not competing in one of the season’s most dominant cars, Kanaan delivered an impressive rookie campaign, earning two podium finishes at Laguna Seca and the Texaco Grand Prix of Houston. 

Kanaan later produced one of the most remarkable seasons in IndyCar history in 2004, capturing the series championship while completing all 3,305 possible laps. He became the first driver in IndyCar Series history to complete every lap of an entire season. One of the most popular and accomplished drivers of his generation, Kanaan recorded 17 career IndyCar victories and 15 pole positions, including his memorable victory at the 2013 Indianapolis 500.

As a race used suit from the rookie season of a fan favourite and one of IndyCar’s greatest drivers, this is an exceptionally special piece of motorsport memorabilia.
