1996 Cory McClenathan US National Winning NHRA Top Fuel Drag Race Used Helmet
A helmet used by Cory McClenathan while competing in NHRA Top Fuel class in the 1996 season. Ever since climbing behind the wheel of a Top Fuel dragster in 1991, 'Cory Mac' established himself as one of the best drivers the class had ever seen. He amassed 28 victories in 50 final-round appearances, notching 400 career round wins, and competing in over 330 races. This fabulous helmet has been photo matched to being used extensively at many of the events McClenathan ran during the season. Including at his win at the Mag Tools US Nationals. The Simpson helmet has a pink fade airbrush design that is divided into sections with silver pinstriping on the top half and around the eyeport of the helmet. There is a cartoon image of McClenathan to the top front. The bottom half has a black and white chequered design with the words “I Play to Win” to the back and ‘Mac’ to the chin. Team sponsor McDonalds Racing, logo decals have been applied to either side.
