1994 Teo Fabi SIgned Race Used Indy 500 Hall Racing Bell Feuling Helmet
Original Bell Feuling SA90 helmet race-worn at the 78th Indianapolis 500 by Italian driver Teo Fabi. That year's Indy 500 was won by Al Unser Jr. for Team Penske, as Fabi finished a respectable 7th out of the 33 drivers entered in the race. This would be his best finish in his 8 starts at Indianapolis.
This Bell helmet was named after it's designer Jim Feuling and is one of the most visually pleasing helmets in racing history. It is also highly popular amongst collectors worldwide . This helmet itself also has some great racing history behind it as it was used in one of the most popular era's of IndyCar racing history. It has been photo matched to the Indy 500 and comes complete with 500 miles worth of dirt, the original pop off valve, USAC tech sticker and "pump" system.
A veteran of 64 F1 starts, Fabi drove for Toleman, MRD and Benetton from 1982-87 and he had many points scoring finishes, including two podiums. He also raced in IndyCar for 10 seasons, but it was in his rookie year of 1983 that Fabi set the American fans on fire scoring pole at Indianapolis and winning 4 races on route to Rookie of the Year honors and 2nd place in the IndyCar Championship. Fabi was also the World Sportscar Champion for Jaguar in 1991 and finished on the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice.
It's also quite well known that Fabi almost never lets any helmets out of his own private collection making this ultra rare helmet that much more desirable for a collector to snap up. The helmet was previously owned by a fellow driver who traded helmets with Fabi back in the 1990's.
The helmet has been hand-signed by Fabi and comes complete with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
