This very rare original Scuderia Ferrari team shirt worn was worn by Berger. It is in great condition considering it is more than 25 years old. Berger had some great success, including the five grand prix wins with Ferrari in both of his stints (1987-89 & 1993-95). This rare tobacco-sponsored shirt comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Austrian driver Gerhard Berger was rare in that he drove both for Ferrari and McLaren in his Formula One career. He won five races for Ferrari (over two stints), three for McLaren and two for Benetton, the latter the first and last of his grand prix career.

Teammates with Ayrton Senna at McLaren, Berger helped win constructors championships in 1990 and '91. For a few years he owned 50 percent of Toro Rosso. Despite finishing third in the standings twice (1988 and '94) and seven times finishing in the top five, Berger's win total and point totals would have been higher without the disproportionate number of retirements he had (nearly half of his races ended that way, including a staggering 11 in succession over two seasons with Ferrari).

Berger's career almost wasn't. Just weeks after the 1984 season ended, in which he just made his first four F1 starts with Team ATS, he survived his road car being knocked over a cliff. He was seriously injured but made a full recovery and went on to race for 13 seasons in F1, until his retirement at 1997 season's end.
