Jones son of IndyCar Legend Parneli and brother to P.J. started his career in karting, he soon moved up to racing midgets and was fast become a top rated driver and was considered by many a champion in the making. He had already started looking to the future by driving in Indy Lights and minor NASCAR events when tragedy struck. Leading in a Sprint car event at Eldora Speedway in 1994, he hit the wall. While his car rolled back across the track he was hit on the head by a passing car suffering a severe brain injury. Fortunately after many years of recovery, Jones now lives to tell the tail but the injury forced him to retire from the sport.
