During the 1993 season, Fittipaldi collected 3 wins, 2 pole positions, 3 fastest laps and 9 podiums to place 2nd in the championship. One of his wins came during the 1993 Indy 500, where he famously drank orange juice instead of the traditional milk.

Fittipaldi moved to CART in 1984, and his first win came on the ultra-fast Michigan International Speedway oval in a 250-lapper in 1985, having to go through nearly the entire field to do it after starting 19th. Fittipaldi won 22 races during his time in CART, including the 1989 and 1993 Indianapolis 500s.
