1991 Paul Tracy Signed Race Used First IndyCar Start Long Beach Grand Prix Suit
Race-used Simpson Racing Products suit worn by IndyCar legend Paul Tracy.
This suit was used at the 1991 Long Beach Grand Prix, which is historically significant, since it was Paul Tracy's first IndyCar start. Tracy was coming off an Indy Lights / American Racing Series Championship, having won 9 races on route to the title in 1990. He used the winnings to rent a back-of-the-grid car from team owner Dale Coyne for a reported $105,000. Tracy impressed during the race but ended up being classified with a 22nd place finish. Without further funding in sight Tracy thought his career could be over and, as he walked back to the paddock, was summoned to Roger Penske's office. He was worried he had blocked or got in the way of one of his drivers but, to the Canadian's surprise, Penske offered him a contract. Tracy was signed on as a test driver, eventually getting a race seat and the rest is, as they say, is racing history.
This suit is arguably one of the most important in Tracy's career. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to own a piece of IndyCar history today.
The suit has been hand-signed by Tracy and comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
