Nigel Mansell won the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship in 1992 with Williams, wearing a helmet design extremely similar to this 1991 1:2 helmet, and claimed 31 Grand Prix victories over 15 seasons. He later moved to American open wheel racing and won the 1993 IndyCar World Series with Newman Haas Racing. Mansell remains the only driver to have held both the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship and the American open wheel national championship at the same time.
