1991 Michael Schumacher Signed Race Used Italian Grand Prix Benetton F1 Helmet
Incredible Arai GP3 helmet race-worn by the Seven-time Formula One World Drivers Champion Michael Schumacher. The German driver used this helmet during his first race with Benetton-Ford at the Italian Grand Prix on race day after Schumacher's fast and controversial move from Team 7Up Jordan after making his first Grand Prix start. This historic item was not only his second ever F1 helmet but also his very first points helmet. Schumacher in his first GP for the team and even first time ever driving that car out qualified and finished ahead in the race his more experience (and 3 time world champion) teammate Nelson Piquet. Back in 1991 only the top 6 drivers scored points and five of the 6 would end up being F1 World Champions. The list of the top 6 finishers were
- Nigel Mansell - Williams
- Ayrton Senna - McLaren
- Alain Prost - Ferrari
- Gerhard Berger - McLaren
- Michael Schumacher - Benetton
- Nelson Piquet - Benetton
