Race-used leathers worn by motorcycle racing legend, Kevin Schwantz while racing with the Lucky Strike Suzuki Team during the 1991 500cc Championship GP season.

Kevin Schwantz is an American, former professional motorcycle road racer. He was the World Champion of the 1993 FIM Road Racing World Championship. The late 1980's and early 1990's are remembered as one of the most competitive eras of Grand Prix racing with a field rich in talent that included Wayne Rainey, Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan, Eddie Lawson and Randy Mamola. He was often at a disadvantage in that his Suzuki never seemed to be as fast as those of his Yamaha and Honda mounted rivals. His determination to win at all cost meant that he seemed to crash as often as he won. This trait made him a popular favorite among race fans the world over. His last lap pass of Rainey to win the 1991 German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring, with his rear tire fish-tailing on the verge of control, typified Schwantz' "do or die" riding style.

These stunning leathers were worn over the 1991 season, spotted in the French GP (where the rode to a 4th place finish) and last used when he crashed in pre race practice in the run up to the Malaysian GP. Schwartz broke his hand and leathers had to be cut off him by the medics. They still remain in that exact state. Injures from that accident meant both Schwantz and rival Rainey who was also injured, would miss the Malaysian GP.

Schwantz race-used leathers are very rare and do not come into the collectibles market often. So don't hesitate to add this fantastic piece of motorcycle racing history to your collection today.

The leathers are signed on the knee slider and come with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
