1990 Alain Prost Italian Grand Prix Used Ferrari F1 Helmet
Stunning helmet worn by 4x World Champion, Alain Prost during the 1990 Italian Grand Prix where he finished in second place. On the podium, he was accompanied by Ayrton Senna, winner, and Gerhard Berger, 3rd.
The 1990 championship was one for the ages with a season-long battle between rivals, Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. Prost, driving for Ferrari, led the championship after 3 wins in a row. Senna, driving for McLaren, fought back and gained ground over the season bringing the fight to the penultimate round at the Suzuka circuit in Japan with a 9-point lead over Prost. Senna started on pole, only for Prost to beat him off the line. Senna then drove into Prost at the first corner, putting both of them out and thus settling the championship in Senna's favour. This was the second year in a row that the two drivers had collided at Suzuka. Senna later admitted that the collision was deliberate. The two Suzuka incidents are still talked about to this day.
