1988 Alain Prost Marlboro McLaren Honda Bell XFM-1 Replica F1 Helmet
This Alain Prost period correct replica was beautifully hand painted on a real Bell XFM-1 helmet with unrestored Nomex interior. It is a excellent reproduction of the helmet Alain Prost wore during the 1988 Formula 1 season. A nice bonus is that the helmet is signed by then McLaren team boss, Ron Dennis.
1988 was one of the most memorable years in F1 history, with a great season long duel between the McLaren teammates, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. The record breaking McLaren MP4/4 in their capable hands was extremely dominant winning all the races that season except the Italian Grand Prix. 1988 saw Prost win 7 races and 7 second places and more points that Senna, but since Senna won more races and the rule of only the driver's top eleven point scoring finishes counting made Senna the World Champion. Prost vs Senna will always be remembered as one of the greatest on track Formula One rivalries of all time.
Alain Prost had a fantastic career in F1 winning the World Drivers Championship 4 times in 1985, 1986, 1989 and 1993. He drove in 199 races resulting in 51 wins, 106 podiums, 33 poles and 41 fastest laps. This helmet is a great collectible to celebrate his legacy.
The helmet comes with our Hall of Fame Collection COA.
