1980 Alan Jones And Williams World Champions Original Ron Burton Artwork
Original black ink pen on artboard artwork by Indianapolis motorsport artist Ron Burton. The renowned artist composed this work to celebrate Alan Jones & Albilad Williams Racing winning the Drivers and Constructors Formula One World Championships in 1980. Australian Jones had five wins, three second places, and two third-place finishes during the season giving him 67 total points, 13 in front of main rival Nelson Piquet. The Albilad Williams Racing Team also dominated the Constructor's title with Jones and teammate Carlos Reutemann racking up an unsalable 120 points for the team, almost double their nearest rivals.
This detailed artwork has three portraits of Alan Jones (one side view, one front view and a helmeted view) at the top and, below this, a portrait of Williams's team owner Frank Williams wearing a headset. There are various views of Jones, the Williams Ford Cosworth FW07B machine, with the main head-on image of the car at the bottom of the work.
Please note there is some age yellowing on the edges of the artboard but this does not distract from the quality of this fantastic work.
The artwork has been personally signed by Ron Burton and measures approximately 30 x 24 inches in size.
