1979 AJ Foyt Race Used Bell Star IndyCar Helmet
Original helmet owned and race worn by 4-time Indy 500 Champion AJ Foyt.
Foyt holds the record for most IndyCar wins (67), most Championships (7) and tied for 1st all-time in Indy 500 wins (4).
He is also the only driver in history to win the Indy 500, the IndyCar Championship, Le Mans 24 Hours, the Daytona 500, the Daytona 24 Hours and the Sebring 12 Hours.
This original Bell Star helmet shows a manufacturing date of May 1979 and is very much like the other helmets Foyt used in the pictures below during his height of his career. The helmet was used in the 79 season and shows signs of use with the foam strip underneath the visor and velcro from the helmet skirt still attached.
The helmet was gifted to Jack Starnes, a long time crew chief of AJ Foyt racing from Foyt himself at the Houston headquarters of AJ Foyt racing in 1984. The helmet stayed part of his Starnes collection until recently and is still in excellent condition. AJ Foyt helmets are a very rare find so don't hesitate to add this one to your collection today.
