1979 AJ Foyt Race Used Bell Star IndyCar Helmet

Original Bell Star helmet owned by 4-time Indy 500 Champion AJ Foyt.

Foyt holds the record for most IndyCar wins (67), most Championships (7) and tied for 1st all-time in Indy 500 wins (4).

He is also the only driver in history to win the Indy 500, the IndyCar Championship, Le Mans 24 Hours, the Daytona 500, the Daytona 24 Hours and the Sebring 12 Hours.

This helmet was acquired from its original owner who obtained it from long time crew member Jack Starnes at the AJ Foyt race shop in Houston Texas in November 1984. The same source also had acquired his original gloves which were also documented as picked up in 1980 (see photos for reference). Please note this listing is for the helmet only. 

This plain but iconic orange design shows light use and the foam strip underneath the visor and velcro from the helmet skirt still attached.
