1976 Dan Gurney All American Racers Pit Crew Shirt
Very rare pit crew shirt from Dan Gurney’s All American Races IndyCar team. This shirt was used during the 1976 Indianapolis 500. Where the team drivers Duane Carter and rookie Vern Schuppan finished fifth and eightieth respectively in their light blue 1974 chassis, Drake Offenhausen Eagle cars (see pictures).
This great white vintage shirt has the AAR shield patch stitched onto the left arm and Gurneys Eagles oval patch to the right arm. The left chest have Gurney’s major sponsor Jorgensen Steel and tire supplier Goodyear patches applied. There are lager versions of the same patches sewn to the back. There is also the name 'Dan' embroidered on the left chest. Due to the shirt size (large) it is doubtful that this would have belonged to team owner Dan Gurney? We also doubt if many of these shirts have survived over the years making this a rare item.
