Rolf Johann Stommelen was a German racing driver, who participated in 63 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, achieving one podium, and scoring a total of 14 championship points. He also participated in several non-Championship Formula One races.
Known as one of the best endurance sports car racing drivers of the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s, Stommelen would go on to win the 24 Hours of Daytona four times, in 1968, 1978, 1980 and 1982, and the Targa Florio in 1967 in a Porsche 910. He was also a 3-time class winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This light blue, two-piece, race-used Les Leston suit has the Dunlop name embroidered over the left front zipper pocket and on the left front pant pocket as well. The suit has darker blue stripes over the shoulders and arms, and down the sides of the legs. The suit was likely used during the mid 1960's.
Also check our other listings as we have Stommelen's matching boots available as well.
