1936 Peter DePaolo Signed Wall Smacker Biography IndyCar Book
A rare and collectible edition of Wall Smacker - The saga of the speedway, written by Peter DePaolo and published in 1936. The book is personally signed by DePaolo in ink pen on its first page. The 25 chapter hardback book contains rare vintage photographs and detailed text covering the author's life and fifteen-year career as an Indy race car driver in the 1920s and early 1930s. It includes an account of his victory in the Indianapolis 500 in 1925 driving for the Duesenberg racing team. The condition of the book, considering its age, is fair to good with age marks on its orange linen cover and some small damage to the spine of the book. Unfortunately, the binding has started to separate from the cover and the book has lost its dust jacket. Even so, a very hard to find book that is almost 90 years old. Signed by one of the stars of early American open-wheel racing.
