2009 Dan Wheldon Replica Bell Helmet With Signed Race Worn Visor
Rare, one-of-a-kind replica of Dan Wheldon's 2009 Bell helmet that he used when racing for Panther in the IndyCar Series. This helmet has a beautiful matte finish featuring the Union Jack flag and famous "Lionheart" mural, two features which were almost always incorporated in the design of Wheldon's helmets. The Lionheart portion refers to former King Richard riding a horse into battle, and Wheldon was given this nickname by a go-kart mechanic after he was said to be driving with the heart of a lion.
The helmet comes fitted with an original signed race-used visor.
Dan Wheldon was a British IndyCar driver who won the 2005 IndyCar Series Championship as well as the 2006 Rolex 24. He was a two-time Indianapolis 500 winner (2005 and 2011) and won a total of 16 IndyCar races. He tragically lost his life in 2011 after a crash at the Las Vegas Speedway.
The helmet comes complete with the correct Hans clips and radio attached, and includes a Certificate Of Authenticity.
