1970’s Scott Brayton Early Career Race Helmet
Vintage race helmet used by American driver Scott Brayton. It was worn by Brayton very early in his career and is likely to have seen action around many of the junior karting tracks in the midwest. Brayton went on to have a successful fifteen-year career in the CART IndyCar series. He also competed in fourteen Indianapolis 500s, beginning with the 1981 event. Sadly Brayton died in practice after qualifying in pole position for the 1996 race.
The helmet has an all yellow base color and has a period looking '70s hand-painted red pin-stripe curved line design around the helmet. On its back, there's a star design, again in red pin-striping. Brayton’s name is added to the top on either side in a thick black font.
This is an amazing early piece of racing history of this very popular driver.
The helmet comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
