Californian Don Meacham, who served in the US Air Force, became a racing driver in the 60’s and was as known as a top Midget car driver at the time. Meacham would win 9 United States Auto Club (USAC) Championships and achieved celebrity status on the Australian and New Zealand racing circuits for his driving prowess. Not only was he a great driver but Meacham also served as his own mechanic and pit crew. Meachan also raced, on occasion, in Sportscars as well in the early part of his career and entered 9 USAC National Championship (IndyCar) races. This included his attempt to qualify for the 1967 Indy 500. His last entry was at Sacramento in 1968 although he continued to drive in Midget races until the early 1970's. Meacham was inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2013.

This well used vintage light blue Hinchman suit would have been used in the late 1960’s, likely made for Indianapolis or USAC Nation Championship Racing as at the time Hinchman of Indianapolis was the main race overall provider to most IndyCar drivers. The suit has a dark blue stripe running down the outside of both arms and legs. Meacham’s name is embroidered on the left side of the chest and has a waist belt that is fastened with a brass clasp.

Opportunity to own one of these Hinchman 1960's suits is very rare.

The suit comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
